The London Free Press Reporter said in early September Toronto will soon publish a request for proposals for landfill space. Among the proposals it is requesting, the city is looking to New York. (See Solid Waste Online, 9/7/99).
Toronto's 2.3 million residents are running out of local landfill space and will need to find a new landfill by September, 2000.
