The Coalition on
West Valley Nuclear Wastes July, 2003
REMINDER
PUBLIC
MEETING
THURSDAY,
JULY 17, 7PM
Concord
Town Hall, Franklin St., Springville NY
DOE's proposed solution to the future of the West Valley
nuclear site is to bury everything in concrete. At this meeting we will
explain why we object to that and why we must stop them. Between
now and December will be our last chance. We
really need help and we need it now. One
thing you can do is get the facts by coming that night (and bring a
friend).
It's
not too technical for ordinary mortals to understand
And
YES you can make a difference.
Mark Steffan, Supervisor of
the Town of Concord will
facilitate the meeting. Bill King,
Supervisor of the Town of Ashford
will speak. Dr. Michael Wilson,
Professor of Geology at Fredonia, will speak about erosion. Members of the Coalition
will give background and explain the dangers of the DOE proposal. Literature with more detail will be available.
Questions will be answered.
Whether high level radioactive waste is
removed from this eroding site or irretrievably encased in concrete and
left for your children to deal with in the future is up to those of us
who live here. Now is the time to make this
decision. Later will
be too late.
